Are You Truly Ever Debt Free?

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I think I can answer this with one word – “NO”. The reason that I say this is because of the ever present existence of property taxes and utilities. Maybe 100-200 years ago a person could go out west and stake a claim of land live the remainder of his life debt free. In today’s society in most States you must pay property taxes, water, sewage or something equal.

You could live in the country and have well water and a septic tank but then there’s the taxes. You could pay for water but live in a state with no property taxes. The bottom line is that yes, you could be debt free but for 98% of us it is just a fantasy.

My new definition of being debt free is to be current on all bills, no credit card debts, loans or outstanding medical bills. With a house payment is ok but a paid off home is the ultimate that a person could hope to achieve in being debt free.

60% Debt Free Today

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Today is a reason for celebrating. I received my income tax refund and before I could spend it, I paid off one of my credit cards. That brings my total debt from $11,900.00 down to about $5200.00. My goal this weekend is to start selling like no body’s business.

I think I have enough large ticket items that can reduce my debt down to around $3000.00. I am excited that I can finally start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not a train this time.

Make Money On eBay

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Can you still make money on eBay? I don’t know but I do have a few things that I want to sell and would like to find out if it is possible. I would like to produce an additional income that could help pay off debt or my home or whatever.

I’ve got the time and ambition and there is nothing that is holding me back so I think I will spend some time online tonight reading and maybe this weekend I can start selling again. My eBay username is Barry4821 and I have been an eBay member since March 1999. Got an older account?
