Statue of Liberty

Statue Of Liberty

Finally made it to New York City to see the Statue of Liberty. We purchased our tickets several months in advance to be able to go to what they call “Crown Access”. There is 354 stairs to the crown. I made it up as far as about her knee cap lol. My son and grandson went all the way to the top. The stairs are very narrow and steep so if you are over weight, afraid of heights and out of shape you may want to consider this before going all the way to the top.

I am still glad that I got to go and think this goal is done. When I do lose the weight I would like to go back and go to the top. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Public access to the balcony surrounding the torch has been barred for safety reasons since 1916. The original torch is inside the statue for visitors to see up close.
