Omron HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer

PedometerToday I got the chance to really see how the Omron Pedometer worked. All I can say is that I am more than pleased. I only can assume that it kept an accurate track of my steps but based on my trials last night it seemed as if it was within 1 step plus or minus for 200 steps.

I know that it accurately detected when I was doing as it calls aerobic steps (10 minutes continual walking). I know this because after I came home and it cooled down outside, I took a walk around my neighborhood. It uploads your measurements to the computer and plots your progress throughout the day. So I can tell when I walk more or less and where I can make improvements.

Another nice feature is that it keeps track of your measurements for days so If you can not upload your information right away then its ok. I set my goals low and will increase them over time. Take a look below on how I did my first day. You can see where I was inactive during certain portions of the day. Six to Seven pm I took a nap, if your wondering why no results. In conclusion I highly recommend this Pedometer as the one to get. I’ve had several before this and I think this one is the best on the market.

Gone Fishing

Today I seemed to be hungry more than usual. Probably because I didn’t eat that much yesterday. I had Special K with Skim milk for breakfast. Two chicken salad sandwiches for lunch and right after work I had two fillet-o-fish sandwiches. I went to a gathering after work and had one plain hamburger and about 20 baby carrots. We went fishing and I fished for trout for about an hour. Everyone caught something except for me and my boss.

According to my software program I am still under my daily calorie limit but we shall see what it does tomorrow. Starting today I am going to start measuring inches around my waist. That will be one of the tell, tell signs that I am truly losing weight. I also got my new pedometer and I already love it. Uploading the data to my computer was easy. Setting it up wasn’t as bad as I thought either. I walked a hundred strides twice and it was within 1 or 2 steps each time and I think it will average out. I am happy with it thus far.

Eating Too Few Calories?

As of 8:44 pm tonight I calculated that I have only at 1274 calories today. I went to the gym this evening. The elliptical machines were busy so I jumped on the stationary bike for 15 minutes to burn 100 calories and then on the elliptical machine for another 15 minutes for an additional 100 calories. So if you subtract my eating calories minus my work out puts me at around 1074 calories for the day.

No I know that if you eat to few calories you will not lose but I am hoping this is not the case. I really enjoy keeping track of my calories throughout the day. It’s more entertaining than counting points. For Dinner I had two Arby’s regular roast beef’s at 310 calories a piece. For breakfast I had a bowl of cereal and for lunch I had a chicken salad sandwich.

I got that after workout metabolism going and feel really good! BTW: I am down 2 lbs since yesterday and 4 lbs total this week after starting a calorie restriction diet.
