The Good Thing About Low Carb

I’ve been playing around on the computer tonight. It’s way past my bed time and I decided that I was a little hungry. I went down stairs and found a package of Bob Evans sausages and I knew what I wanted. I fried them up and shared some with my son. No more hunger.

What’s different about this from a low fat diet is that if I would have eaten anything on a low fat diet this late at night, tomorrow I would have gained weight. Now with a Low Carb diet I no longer have to fear the gain because my body can absorb it like a sponge. I’m not saying that I would weigh more tomorrow - What I am trying to say is that the only weight I will have gained is the actual weight of the sausage that I ate. As soon as my body processes the food it will be as if I had never eaten it to begin with. At least that’s my take on the subject.

Update: This morning I weighed in at 266.2 lbs. that’s 12.6 lbs lost from my highest weight.

Working In The Yard

I didn’t go to the gym today but rather worked my butt off in the yard. First, I mowed the yard (45 minutes) second, I tried to start a roto-tiller (10 minutes), third, I planted some petunias and worked around the yard (1 hour). Now if I didn’t burn calories today then nothing will do it.

I might take a shower and still go to the gym this evening but right now I am beat. I did show a loss this morning to 276.6 when is down from my high of 278.8 just two days ago. PS. I found my Ipod Shuffle about 10 minutes ago so I guess the kids will get the new one.

I Eat Therefore I Am

I guess the main reason for me being overweight is my unwillingness to grasp the idea that I take in more calories than I burn. I read all of these diet books that say to take your current calorie consumption and reduce it by 500 calories per day. Just how the heck are you going to figure that out when I never eat the same way twice and have no idea what my daily calorie intake is. I do know that over the course of a week I am consuming probably 7000 calories more than I should or at least it seems that way with a 2 pound gain a week.

I guess I need to get real and count each flex point and stay on track to start losing. It’s basically been a free for all lately, a anything goes mentality and it is showing quite well around my waist line. I am even to the point that I don’t bother weighing myself because I don’t want to depress myself anymore than I already am.
