Walked 8500 Steps

I didn’t have a loss today but then again I didn’t gain either. I did manage to get in 8500 steps today which is about 2000 steps over my average. I got the extra 2000 steps by walking around my neighborhood and 3000 steps were aerobic today so I thought I did pretty good.

The last two days I ate (4) tuna and chicken salad sandwiches on wheat. If I do not have a loss tomorrow, I will cut back to a minimum of two and if this seems to be the reason then I will cut back to one. Although I never would have eaten such things 20 years ago, they are a quick lunch snack that seems to satisfy me.

I do need to get a workout routine going for God sakes. I got this gym membership but have yet to make it this month. That’s another $45 dollars down the drain.

Walking 6,000 Steps Per Day

It’s been about a month since I purchased my new Omron pedometer and BTW I love it. It has done everything it said it would. I haven’t really exercised but have faithfully worn the device. After over a month I am here to report that my average daily walking routine is around 6,000 steps per day.

Now according to everything I have read, we should get in at least 10,000 steps per day. This leaves me with a 4,000 step deficit. They go on to tell us that for every 2,000 steps over our average, we should expect to see a one pound per week weight loss from walking alone. Therefore, based upon the authors I have read, increasing my daily walking routine alone should result in a two pound loss per week. Agree or Disagree?

Walking 10,000 Steps Per Day

YouTube Preview ImageI’ve been pretty faithful this week trying to get my 10,000 FDA approved walking steps in each day. Some days I have went over by several hundred and the day before yesterday I only got in around 9700 steps but all in all I feel pretty good. I have been eating fairly good but I thought I was in for a shock because I ate two helpings of Marzetti yesterday but I still managed to lose this morning.

I’ve been walking around the neighborhood with my dog who loves it. Each trip is around 2500 steps so its not to hard to calculated how many trips I need to do each day to get to my 10,000 steps. Right now as I am writing I am almost at 5000 steps at 4 pm. Looks like I will have to make 2 trips to get to my goal tonight.
